Rachel Levine

After 25 years, actor Ingo Rademacher will no longer appear on General Hospital after posting bigoted comments about out trans Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine.

On his Instagram story, Rademacher reposted a tweet written by conservative podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey in which she referred to Levine as a “dude” and mocked the idea that she could be seen as an empowering woman.

Hello, and welcome to ClownTown, where the dude on the left is an empowering woman, and the woman on the right is a white supremacist. 🤡 pic.twitter.com/oEabUXVe69

According to Showbiz 411, the repost could have been the final straw for the actor, who has been expressing his anti-vaccine opinions on social media and lashing out at fans who called for him to be fired, referring to them as “bigots” and “morons.”

Rademacher’s departure from the General Hospital was revealed on Twitter by his costar Nancy Lee Grahn who has also been on the show for the past 25 years.

Grahn wrote that Rademacher “is mercifully no longer a part of the #gh cast” and that “Transphobia & misgendering are disgusting & should be unacceptable in any industry, including soaps/acting.”

Grahn also expressed solidarity with her trans costar Cassandra James, who plays Dr. Terry Randolph on the show.

After Rademacher’s transphobic post, James tweeted, “I am aware of a transphobic post shared by a fellow General Hospital actor. Shame on you. You have some serious unlearning and education to do. I feel deeply disappointed that such a public display of ignorance could come from our GH family.”

James added that “Misgendering trans folks is violence and if you come for one of us, you come for all of us.”

The fellow actor, #IngoRademacher, is mercifully no longer a part of the #gh cast. Transphobia & misgendering are disgusting & should be unacceptable in any industry, including soaps/acting. I stand with my costar, @cassandrajames_, & the trans community. https://t.co/pjj6FzEncg

The timeline of all of this is a bit murky, and according to Deadline, it’s not entirely clear if Rademacher was already leaving the show when he made the anti-trans comments or if that came afterward.

Nothing has yet been confirmed by General Hospital or ABC.
